Our Past Loves

Even after they're gone a Labrador's love carries on

A Dog's Prayer

Treat me kindly, my Beloved Master, for no heart in all the world is more grateful for kindness than the loving heart of me. Do not break my spirit with a stick, for though I should lick your hand between blows, your patience and understanding will more quickly teach me things you would have me know. Speak to me often, for your voice is the world's sweetest music, as you must know by the fierce wagging of my tail when your footsteps fall upon by waiting ears. When it is cold and wet, please take me inside, for I am no longer used to the bitter elements and I ask no greater glory than the privilege of sitting at your feet beside the hearth. Though you had no home no home, I would rather follow you through ice and snow than rest on the softest pillow in the warmest home. Keep my pan filled with fresh water for although I should no reproach you were it dry, I cannot tell you when I suffer thirst. Feed me clean food, that I may stand well, to romp and play and do your bidding, to walk by your side, and stand ready, willing and able to protect you with my life, should your life be in danger. Then, my Beloved Master, should the Great Master seek to deprive me of my heath and spirit, do not turn me away. Rather, hold me gently in your arms as merciful sleep is administered, and I will leave you knowing with the last breath I draw, my fate was ever safest in your hands.

The girl who started it all. Mollie was the faithful hunting companion of Steve and his son Jake. She was a devoted and extremely independent mother. Mollie passed away peacefully after thirteen years of companionship.

Millie McButter

After helping foster a relationship between ourselves and Ocean Spray Millie crossed over the Rainbow Bridge in her sleep with her brother Bucky at her side. Millie was known for being one of our sweetest mothers and could be seen snuggling with her puppies at times.

Big Zeb

Big Zeb was a 4 H favorite to new children in the 4 H Program. The gentle giant would lead them around the ring and help them learn what they were supposed to do. Zeb enjoyed working with the children and being a hunting companion to Jake. Zeb and Jake competed in the 4 H program together and also obtained multiple obedience titles.

Angelina

Angelina not only worked with Steve's daughter Tara throughout the

4 H program from the time she was 6 months old, she also helped her welcome all three of her children into the world. Angelina was a loving mum to her own babies and a protective companion to Tara's boys. Angelina held multiple titles including her Companion Dog title which she received while pregnant with her last litter.

Cinderella

Cinderella, or Cinder for short, spent her last days playing in the yard with the other dogs and Steve. Cinderella was a good mom and faithful companion who went peacefully in her sleep.

Rosie
